Hilary Franz
President and CEO
American Forests
As climate-driven wildfires reshape the landscapes and livelihoods of the American West, it has never been more critical for nature and technology to work together. In this keynote, Hilary Franz, President and CEO of American Forests, explores how we can move beyond crisis response to proactive, long-term resilience—restoring forests, protecting communities, growing sustainable economies, and reimagining how people and nature coexist in a warming world. Drawing from on-the-ground experience in forest management and restoration, wildfire prevention and response, and investments in cross-sector partnerships and emerging technologies, she will share how merging old-ways of thinking with new tools and innovations can transform how we lead through fire—toward a healthier, more climate-resilient future for our lands and communities.

Holiday Reception at Business & The Environment
December 09, 2025
Sponsored by Stoel Rives
Celebrate the season in style at the Annual Holiday Reception—a festive evening of connection, conversation, and cheer! Join colleagues and friends as we toast the holidays and enjoy live entertainment from pianist George Mitchell and guitarist Jack Radsliff.

George Mitchell
Oregon native George Mitchell has been pop icon Diana Ross’s pianist for nearly 40 years, performing at venues worldwide—from the White House Holiday Concert for President Obama to the Nobel Peace Prize ceremonies in Oslo. He’s played for dignitaries including Presidents Clinton and Mandela and Motown Founder Berry Gordy, and appeared on the legendary Motown 25 broadcast.

Jack Radsliff
One of the Pacific Northwest’s premier jazz guitarists, Jack Radsliff leads a trio featured at top regional festivals and clubs, including The 1905, PDX Jazz Fest, and Mt. Hood Jazz Fest. His acclaimed albums—Migration Patterns (2017), Barefoot (2024), and Living/Live (2025)—have earned critical praise, with Willamette Week calling his latest “one of the best albums to come out of Portland’s jazz scene this year.”
